This is an interim, temporary six-month full-time role, providing leave-of-absence coverage for a key product leadership position. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, the Associate Director / Lead Product Manager will provide product leadership across priority areas of our Product organization, with an initial focus on our Complex Care portfolio and the products and workflows that enable high-touch, longitudinal behavioral health care.

During the engagement, you’ll temporarily manage three Product Managers, provide continuity and strategic direction across active product initiatives and step in where needed to support other Product pods as business priorities evolve. We’re looking for an experienced, adaptable product leader who can quickly establish context, create clarity, coach and support PMs and operate hands-on to move important work forward.

You’ll partner closely with leaders across Clinical, Operations, Strategy, Sales, Engineering, and Design to build scalable products, workflows, and experiences that improve how Spring Health delivers care.

This role is open to remote candidates, with a preference for someone based in the NYC metro area who can work from our 60 Madison Avenue office 2–3 days per week.

What you’ll do:

Provide Product Leadership Across Priority Areas

  • Lead strategy, prioritization, and execution across key product initiatives, with an initial focus on Complex Care and the flexibility to support other Product pods as priorities evolve.

  • Quickly assess existing strategies, roadmaps, customer needs, operational challenges and dependencies to identify the highest-impact opportunities during the engagement.

  • Establish clear product priorities, decision frameworks, success metrics and sequencing to accelerate execution.

  • Step into ambiguous or high-priority product areas as needed, helping teams create clarity, make decisions, and maintain momentum.

  • Use quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate product performance, prioritize opportunities, and guide iteration.

Lead and Support the Product Team

  • Manage and mentor a team of Product Managers providing clear priorities, coaching, feedback and support throughout the engagement.

  • Set a clear product roadmap, define success metrics, and ensure consistent delivery across teams and stakeholders.

  • Create clarity across PM ownership, goals, decision rights and success measures so the team can execute with autonomy and accountability.

Translate Care Models into Scalable Systems

  • Partner with Clinical, Operations, Strategy, and other stakeholders to translate complex care-delivery and business needs into scalable product capabilities.

  • Build and evolve workflows and experiences across areas such as referrals, intake, scheduling, care coordination, transitions, and outcomes tracking, as relevant to assigned product areas.

  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate and productize manual or operationally intensive workflows.

  • Collaborate hands-on with Engineering and Design from discovery through launch, balancing speed, scalability, clinical integrity, operational feasibility and user experience.

  • Create durable strategic context, documentation, and operating mechanisms that enable teams to continue executing effectively after the engagement.

Enable Growth Through Clinical and Operational Impact

  • Partner with Specialty Care Strategy and Sales to bring differentiated offerings to market that expand access and improve outcomes.

  • Drive alignment across operations and sales teams to ensure scalable adoption of care models.

What success looks like in this role:

By the end of the six-month engagement:

  • Priority product areas have clear, data-informed strategies and roadmaps, with teams aligned around the highest-impact opportunities and measurable outcomes.

  • Critical initiatives maintain momentum throughout the leave period, with clear ownership, requirements, decisions, and success measures.

  • The role successfully flexes across Product pods as organizational priorities evolve, bringing senior product leadership and clarity to the areas where it is most needed.

  • Product capabilities demonstrate measurable improvements across relevant KPIs, including engagement, outcomes, efficiency, provider experience, member experience, and/or business impact.

  • Product-driven infrastructure reduces operational friction and enables more scalable delivery of care.

  • AI-assisted product workflows are consistently used across the team to accelerate discovery, synthesis, prototyping, documentation and decision-making while maintaining appropriate human judgment.

  • Product teams have clear strategic context, decision frameworks, and durable operating practices that support a smooth transition at the conclusion of the leave coverage.

AI Fluency Expectations:

  • Use AI as a core part of day-to-day product work, including rapid prototyping, AI-assisted PRDs, customer synthesis, competitive analysis, UX copy, and go-to-market preparation.

  • Ensure direct reports complete applicable AI Fluency expectations and incorporate AI fluency into product reviews, coaching, and 1:1s.

  • Track team adoption and effectiveness of priority AI workflows and use learnings to continuously improve how the team works.

  • Apply human judgment to AI-generated outputs, particularly where product decisions intersect with clinical quality, member experience, or sensitive healthcare workflows.

What we expect from you:

  • 8+ years of experience in product management including experience operating at a Group PM, Associate Director, or equivalent senior product level.

  • Demonstrated ability to both lead a PM team and operate hands-on as a senior individual product leader.

  • Proven ability to build and scale healthcare or care-delivery technology products.

  • Strong understanding of clinical and operational workflows in behavioral health or adjacent care settings.

  • Experience balancing clinical integrity, operational feasibility, and business growth.

  • Data-driven mindset and comfort making decisions in complex, ambiguous environments.

  • Excellent leadership, coaching, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to create clarity and momentum across senior and cross-functional audiences.

  • Strong AI fluency and demonstrated ability to use AI tools to accelerate product discovery, synthesis, prototyping, documentation, and execution.

  • Familiarity with longitudinal care models, Specialty Care, EHR systems, care coordination platforms, or high-acuity behavioral health is a plus.
