Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic/Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and service industrial machinery and material-handling equipment throughout the facility. This position will be responsible for keeping production equipment, forklifts, overhead cranes, and other mechanical systems operating safely and efficiently while minimizing equipment downtime.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial machinery and production equipment.
Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical problems to identify the root cause of equipment failures.
Repair and maintain forklifts, overhead cranes, hoists, conveyors, saws, processing equipment, and other industrial machinery.
Inspect machinery and equipment regularly for worn, damaged, or defective components.
Diagnose and repair hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors, valves, hoses, bearings, belts, chains, gears, and drive systems.
Perform mechanical repairs including replacing bearings, belts, chains, pulleys, sprockets, shafts, motors, and other components.
Troubleshoot basic electrical systems, including motors, switches, sensors, controls, and wiring.
Perform routine inspections and maintenance on overhead cranes and lifting equipment.
Maintain and repair forklifts and other powered material-handling equipment.
Assist with welding, fabrication, cutting, and equipment modifications when needed.
Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment safely and properly.
Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, blueprints, and maintenance documentation.
Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations to minimize production downtime.
Complete scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) and document repairs and inspections.
Lubricate, adjust, align, and calibrate machinery and equipment as required.
Assist with equipment installation, relocation, and upgrades.
Maintain an organized inventory of maintenance parts, tools, and supplies.
Follow all OSHA, company, and facility safety procedures, including proper lockout/tagout procedures.
Maintain a clean and safe maintenance area and work environment.
Communicate equipment issues, completed repairs, and potential problems to supervisors and production personnel.
Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic | Maintenance Technician REQUIRED.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
Experience maintaining industrial machinery and production equipment.
Experience working on forklifts and overhead cranes strongly preferred.
Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and basic electrical systems.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Ability to read mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and schematics.
Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs based on urgency and production needs.
Strong attention to safety and detail.
Ability to work in an industrial/steel-processing environment and perform physically demanding tasks when required.
