The Staff Accountant - Banking & Payments is responsible for the accurate, secure, and timely execution and accounting of banking and payment activities. The role administers day-to-day bank operations, prepares payment batches within established approval controls, records and reconciles cash activity, and maintains audit-ready support. This position provides actual bank data to FP&A for cash forecasting but does not own the enterprise cash forecast or tax compliance process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Payment operations: Prepare domestic and international payment batches, wires, ACH transactions, checks, and other payment methods in accordance with authorization limits and segregation-of-duties requirements.

• Payment controls: Verify that payment requests contain appropriate approvals and support; coordinate independent validation of vendor bank changes and other high-risk payment instructions before processing.

• Banking administration: Maintain bank account records, authorized signer documentation, user-access listings, and payment templates.

• Daily cash activity: Retrieve and distribute bank balances and transaction activity; identify unusual, rejected, returned, duplicated, or stale transactions and coordinate timely resolution.

• Intercompany settlements: Execute approved intercompany transfers and settlement instructions provided by Tax, Accounting, or Finance; retain complete support and ensure entries are communicated to affected entities.

• Fraud prevention: Administer positive pay and other bank fraud-prevention tools; report exceptions immediately and support periodic reviews of payment controls and bank access.

• Bank relationships and documentation: Coordinate routine service requests, KYC documentation, account maintenance, bank confirmations, and fee inquiries with financial institutions and internal stakeholders.

• Close and audit support: Provide bank statements, confirmations, reconciliations, payment support, and cash schedules for month-end close, financial audits, and internal reviews.

• Process improvement: Maintain banking and payment procedures, cross-train designated backups, and identify opportunities to standardize, automate, and strengthen controls.

• Month-end close: Assist with month-end close responsibilities such as recording journal entries and performing reconciliations of accounts.

• Other: Assist with other accounting projects as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Minimum of 2 years of accounting, treasury operations, banking, or cash-management experience.

• Working knowledge of journal entries, bank reconciliations, payment processes, and internal controls.

• Experience with ERP systems, online banking platforms, payment file formats, and Excel.

• Ability to manage recurring deadlines and high transaction accuracy in a controlled environment.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

Experience in a multi-entity or international organization and familiarity with foreign-currency payments preferred.

Experience using Business Central.

Compensation:

Base salary range of $72,000 - $87,000 (depending upon experience) plus a target annual bonus of 10%. Full benefit package including insurance coverages and a 401(K) with company match, flexible vacation time.

Work Schedule: 100% remote. Those living in the Pacific Time Zone are preferred.
